We were enchanted the minute we arrived at Astarte Suites. Its location is far from Oia and the city’s main attractions, a 40 minute drive without traffic, something you need to consider depending on whether you are looking for a lively busier stay or a tranquil and more secluded one. It is near stunning and unique Red Beach, a 15 minute taxi ride away, depending on traffic. Perissa and a few other beaches are also nearby, as is the newly restored archeological site Akrotiri, which is a 10 minute drive away. There are only 13 suites decorated in a characteristically Greek style, with an abundance of white and blue hues, patterned flooring and bathrooms with tiles reminiscent of the sea. Most have breathtaking sea views with private balconies and whirlpool bath tubs. At least once, savor a delicious breakfast in your own terrace over the incomparable views. The Honeymoon Suite is, of course, stunning and ideal for special occasions. The hotel staff is extremely attentive and the common areas include an in-house restaurant with a good range of dishes, an infinity swimming pool and unforgettable panoramic views throughout. Attention: there are many stairs and steps, some quite steep, to reach certain areas of the hotel, a common characteristic in Santorini.
