Park Plaza

Grand yet modern, the Park Plaza Boston is one of our favorites. The daily rates tend to be reasonable compared to other properties of the same standard, provided it is outside a high or special season for the city. One of the first large hotels in Boston, the Park Plaza has plenty of history and its founder has a statue nearby. An extensive refurbishment modernized its interiors, creating an interesting contemporary style set within the stunning original classic building. Design furnishings, a large central room in which meals are also served and an adjacent common room which resembles a co-working space, are some of the modern global hospitality tendencies. The location is also sublime, one of the best in the city, a short walk from Boston Common, the stunning Public Gardens, the charming neighborhood of Beacon Hill and residential area of Back Bay and of the abundant shopping and dining to be found in Newbury Street. Despite its large size, one of the largest in Boston, you will feel like you are staying in a much smaller property due to the well placed divisions and separations between its common rooms. The guestrooms are mostly quite large and simply decorated in neutral tones, which we found to be calming after much sightseeing in town. The bathrooms are functional and well equipped. The common areas and lobby have a more striking decor, but the location and prices alone will make your stay a pleasant one in the city.
