L’Orangerie

Located in The Yeatman hotel, the L’Orangerie will mesmerize you as soon as you enter the restaurant: the views to Porto’s Ribeira and the Douro through its large windows and from the terraces are breathtaking. Service is flawless and food is excellent. While you read the extensive menu, a waiter will bring delicious prosciutto, olives and oil with crunchy bread. Many Portuguese dishes are on offer, but our palates craved international food that evening, so we started with grilled dim sum, some local (very) red shrimp, followed by a risotto and meat, everything super tasty and satisfying. For dessert we were tempted by the typical egg pudding with berries, but ended up ordering the caramel ganache with vanilla ice cream, which was really good. Try to arrive at dusk so you can watch the sunset and night fall from the hotels’ terrace, and after dinner you can enjoy the magnificent views and starry night over a glass of port wine.
