The College Hotel
We came across The College Hotel by chance when we decided to extend our stay during our last visit to Amsterdam. As the name suggests, the hotel is a 19th Century building that used to be a school and has been beautifully renovated. The delightful well-preserved architecture is in keeping with its history, with an impressive entrance, a high ceiling lobby with multi-colored bricks, original wall sculptures and stained glass. The guest areas are lavishly decorated in luxurious vibrant velvet, giving it a modern atmosphere. We found the staff very attentive and proud to tell you about the building’s history. It is located in trendy De Pijp, one of our preferred areas in town, given its strong residential atmosphere, and a very short walk or bike ride to most of Amsterdam’s attractions like Museumplein (ten-minute walk) or to elegant area Jordaan and Nine Streets. We liked that rooms were generously sized with dark furnishings and neutral undertones. We recommend the ones facing the patio, particularly when the weather is nice.
