Sir Albert Hotel
Sir Albert A small boutique hotel in the trendy De Pijp neighborhood, surrounded by hip shops and restaurants that lure a stylish local crowd. The location is perfect: right by Albert Cuyp market, a five to ten minute walk to some of the loveliest canals and to Museumpleim. Upon arriving at the small cozy lobby, we were greeted by friendly staff with a glass of sparkling wine. The decor is appealing, modern with artsy touches. Breakfast is served at Izakaya , the restaurant next to the lobby, which serves beautiful and delectable Japanese food. Do request a room on a higher floor as the Izakaya becomes very crowded in the evenings and rooms close to the lobby may be somewhat noisy. The accommodation is modernly decorated in black, beige, white and grey tones, and although the quality of the materials could be upgraded, the large beds are very comfortable. In our latest stay we enjoyed the hotel’s offer of complimentary bicycles for guests, a lovely touch. We highly recommend the Sir Albert for its fantastic location, which more than compensates for other minor oversights.
