The Hotel Intercontinental in Vienna falls outside our standards, as we avoid hotel chains due to their characteristic lack of personality. The Reina Victoria is just blocks away from Puerta del Sol, one of Madrid’s emblematic spots, as well as interesting attractions like the Thyssen-Bornemisza or the Prado museums. The Bessa on Liberdade Avenue is really well located, on the famous Lisboan tree lined boulevard and just a short walk to most of the city’s nicest neighborhoods, like Bairro Alto and Chiado. We found the Lumiares to be a perfect hotel/apartment combination right at heart of one of Lisbon’s most sought after areas, lively Bairro Alto. The Nautilus Hotel is a casual and elegant oceanfront hotel in Miami Beach, designed by famous architect Morris Lapidus in the 50’s. The Shore Club first called our attention with the excellent rates that are offered, especially if we consider its prime location and the higher rates charged by surrounding properties.
