Countless stays at the New York Palace have made us develop an affection towards it. So much so, that even though the hotel has added Lotte to its name, we cannot help referring to it after its original name: The New York Palace. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has recently been renovated to add touches of modernity to its classic palace style ambience. The bedrooms, many that have also been recently renovated, are larger than comparable properties in the city and are very comfortable with nice quality carpets, wooden furnishings and large beds. The standard rooms have rather small bathrooms, so do take that into consideration when booking. If possible, request a room facing St Patrick’s cathedral, which has always been our choice. On bad weather mornings, a full breakfast at Villard restaurant (do admire the marvelous ceilings) is sure to brighten your day, but if you are short for time grab a delightful delicacy from Pomme Palais. On nice weather evenings do not miss cocktails at the lovely outdoor courtyard facing the street.
