Mandarin Oriental

At Suite 49 we avoid large hotel chains, the main reason being that they usually lack personality and you feel you are staying in the same hotel all over the world. The Mandarin Oriental in Miami is quite the opposite. The hotel not only has characteristics of its own, but also has one of the most stunning lobbies in Miami, with floor-to-ceiling windows to the sea canal right in front. It is very contemporary with Asian touches and a sophisticated atmosphere. It is true that rooms follow exactly the same decor and features of other Mandarin Oriental properties, but they are larger than usual, extremely comfortable, have large bathrooms and stunning nighttime views. Not to be missed are dining at the outstanding in-house restaurant La Mar, a mix of Peruvian and Japanese cuisines,  relaxing by the marvelous pool on sunny days and the small fabulous Shanghai Tang, a Hong Kong original shop on ground floor. We have stayed at this hotel more than once and our experience has been exceptional on every occasion.
