Ambassador a L’Opera
We found this hotel extremely well situated in our favorite Seefeld area. It is just one block away from the lake and its wonderful promenade, as well as the Opera House (hence the name), Bellevue and a short walk to all major attractions in Zürich, both on the right and left sides of the river. The décor is dated yet very cozy, and the lobby has velvet furnishings and tones of black and gold smoothed with pastel shades. The attentive staff offer lovely touches of hospitality, such as sparkling wine and fruit upon your return to the hotel after a day out. We loved the stylish restaurant that serves all meals during the day, as well as breakfast (usually not included in the rates). A tiny and difficult to reach rooftop bar was a pleasant surprise, offering nice views and adding charm to the hotel. The rooms are generally good in size for European standards, and even the smaller ones felt cozy, all with comfortable beds and newly decorated bathrooms with black and white tiles, great showers and amenities. We again found décor somewhat old fashioned and that rooms could do with some modernization, but nothing that compromised our stay given the many other positive aspects this property has to offer, especially the location, which we loved.
