Conveniently located in the Mitte, mid-way between Hackerscher market and Rosenthaler Platz, this is the Amano Group’s flagship property. Hotel Amano is a larger hotel for the regions’ standard of boutique properties, yet still succeeds in maintaining its personal charm. Guests are welcomed into a large beautiful dimly lit lobby, luxuriously decorated with very modern pieces, velvet seats and artsy objects. The hotel is also home to the trendy Amano Bar, which becomes quite lively and transforms into a nightclub atmosphere with fashionable people looking for its exquisite cocktails (the Amano bar has been considered one of the best hotel bars in Germany by specialists). The inner courtyard at the back of the hotel is quite pleasant on summer days and offers a fun table tennis area. We also liked the delightful rooftop terrace, a nice spot to relax after a busy day of Berlin sightseeing. The rooms are comfortable, tasteful and charming, not overly decorated and very relaxing. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant serves breakfast only, but offers room service. There is a Japanese restaurant next door and Berlin’s well-known Kreuzburger is only two blocks away.
