Quimet & Quimet

For many years, hordes of tourists have invaded Barcelona and to cater for this demand there has been a surge of restaurants and tapas bars, making it quite difficult to keep up with the latest hot spots and best food. So, if you want to make sure to have best tapas in a place that is not just the “tapas bar of the moment”, we recommend you head to Quimet & Quimet. It has been there for a while, and for a good reason, as the tapas are simply outstanding. It is situated in Poble Sec on a dark and hidden street, yet although there are foreigners (can’t really avoid them in Barcelona, but best to join travelers than tourist groups), the bar has been able to keep its local personality and authenticity. Quimet is minuscule, two or three tables, the bar counter, and that’s it! Try some montaditos, tapas on bread slices or some artichokes with cheese, manchego cheese, prawns, anchovies, tuna, and jamón. To avoid the crowd, lunchtime could be an option and the non-peak months are ideal. Highly recommended, delight in the best tapas in town! Check schedule and plan ahead of time, Quimet & Quimet is usually closed on weekends. Another piece of advice: this traditional tapas bar is close to Montjuic, even though it is actually a large area, Quimet & Quimet is just a short walk depending on where you are in Montjuic (it is just a 10 min walk from Fundació Miró, for example). And a warning: there is another Quimet in town, so make sure you head to the right one, which you can check by clicking on the link below.
