As most Mediterranean cities late spring, early summer and fall, are ideal to explore the city’s abundant outdoor attractions, as temperatures are friendlier than the super-hot summer. Temperatures are mildly pleasant from April to June and Barcelona comes alive, as locals start getting ready for summer and upcoming vacation, and during this time, you can enjoy festivals and cultural events. Summer months (July, August) are hot and humid, with temperatures easily reaching the 90Fs/30Cs, so if you want to explore the city we recommend you select a hotel with a swimming pool to cool off when desired. Summer is also when locals flee to surrounding coastal areas, Barcelona sees a huge inflow of visitors and hotel rates are reflective of the tourist peak season. We recommend you try to avoid peak season for a more relaxed stay. By September and October temperatures drop back down to the 70Fs/20Cs, locals are back in town and Barcelona sees pleasant days and cool nights.
