Il Solferino

Located in the Montenapoleone area, the Solferino is everything you would expect from an old school Italian restaurant: a warm welcome by distinctive looking senior hosts, the cozy ambience reminiscent of grandma’s dining room, waiters who have probably been working there for decades, and, of course, the outstanding food. We started with crude tuna envoltini in cheese and avocado cream, which was good. The highlight of the night, though, was the linguini with lobster, very tasty and perfectly cooked and presented. We became friends with a couple sitting at a table next to ours who considered themselves to be quite critical about their food. They had braseola for starter, ossobuco and typical milanese cutlets as main courses, and in their words “the food here is amazing”. Do not miss the semifreddo with nuts and honey for dessert, magnifico!
