Vienna is a city of pleasant, but shorty lived, summers and long cold winters. The months between April and October are the recommended time to visit the city and enjoy the parks and palaces as well as the Austro-Germanic Biergartens. At the height of winter, near the end of year holiday season, the city becomes quite festive, with beautiful Christmas decorations, seasonal markets and ice-skating rinks.
