What we liked the most about staying at the Pillows was that it was located in the charming and quiet Rouppe Square. This area is a good respite from the buzz of the city center around Grand Place, yet only a ten minute walk away from most of the city’s main attractions. The hotel is modern and very comfortable, with design touches and unique details such as no reception desk, which seemed to provide a warmer welcome than usual at hotels. The common areas are pleasant, as is the ground floor breakfast room, and there is a lovely outside terrace ideal for pre-dinner drinks. Next door is one of the best restaurants in Brussels, called Comme Chez Soi, with marvelous Art Deco interiors and excellent food (reservations are essential). The accommodation is larger than what you generally find in Europe, the beds extremely comfortable and we loved the complimentary expresso machine. Request a room overlooking the small square, if available. Staff at the Pillows is friendly and efficient. We had a small problem at our first room and the staff promptly resolved the issue and transferred us to another room with a good upgrade. They were also very helpful in assisting us with transportation and reservations.
