The Londra Palace is a luxury property that seems to compete with other grand dames in Venice, such as the Gritti or the Bauer. The classical style is meticulously maintained not only in its common areas but also in the large rooms, with high quality carpets, upholstery and wall fabrics in blue, red and gold tones. Deluxe decorative pillows and crystal chandeliers add to the allure. If available, request a room facing the water and San Giorgio Maggiore’s tower in the small inlet right in front. Service, as expected, is flawless. All such positive features and characteristics come at a price, but still not as extravagant as the ultra-luxurious Aman or Cipriani. Expect busy mornings in the area, as its location is close to one of the most demanded “transportation hubs” for boats in town, as well to the Bridge of Sighs, one of the most photographed spots in Venice. On the other hand, evenings are lovely and the views and surroundings areas breathtaking. A stay at the Londra Palace will certainly be a nice experience and can perhaps be reserved for special occasions.
