Location location location. The legendary Metropol is a Moscow classic in Kitay-Gorod, and just a few blocks away from the Red Square, Kremlin and St Basil’s Cathedral. We actually consider this hotel, overall art-nouveau, a perfect “find” in the city, most of the top-notch hotels in the region are more expensive. Even if the classic style is not usually your choice we believe, in this case, you should reconsider since its location is really excellent. The hotel is going through renovation, little by litlle rooms and common areas are becoming more contemporary at the same time that the hotel does not lose its historical spirit, from which it takes real pride. All rooms are large and comfortable, and some have a historical appeal, as the ones who used to host world famous politicians and artists. If possible choose one of the recently renovated rooms for a more modern stay. If not, do consider the old style decor in the rooms just as a minor oversight and focus on the pleasures of staying in such an ideal location.
