Set at an impressive 18th-century estate that once belonged to the Count of Pestagua, this luxury home-away from home property is very lovable, with its typically charming Cartagena colors and a colonial decor. There is a lovely inner courtyard with immaculate hanging plants and palm trees, frescoed corridor walls and a cozy swimming pool. The accommodation consists of 11 classical suites distributed around the noble mansion building, which left us feeling like esteemed guests in the home of a Cartagena aristocrat. All suites are unique in layout and décor and very different from one another, but carry the colonial and Colombian flare, with antique furniture, ornamental beds, wooden floors, and most have large marble bathrooms. An in-house Spa, offering some interesting caviar or wine treatments, is another most welcoming touch after a day exploring Cartagena’s attractions.
