Dom Hotel Roma
You get a sense for the history of this old aristocratic mansion, which was once a Monastery, right at entrance. As you look up from the small reception desk, you will see vaulted ceilings and large marble inscriptions on the walls. Perfectly situated on what we reckon is one of the best areas in Rome, on charming Via Giulia, a street where the aristocracy once lived, near Piazza Farnese and away from the throngs of tourists. Dom Hotel Roma is still strategically located within walking distance to Castel Sant’Angelo, the Vatican, Piazza Navona and trendy Trastevere. This enchanting boutique hotel is pure elegance, decorated in velvet and silks, noble tones and a harmonious mix of antique and contemporary with Andy Warhol’s originals on the walls. A rooftop terrace bar is pleasant for drinks before dinner (but we suggest better options at Eat & Drink), and downstairs the Deer Club is a speakeasy lounge with good music and food. We loved the rooms, extremely comfortable, very stylish and charming, with decorated antique white ceilings, brick walls, fashionable furniture, and all expected modern fixtures and amenities, like a TV on a large mirror opposite the bed. Bathrooms are equally modernized and stylish, and the Aqua di Parma amenities were a lovely touch of luxurious hospitality. One of our preferred stays at a boutique hotel in Rome!
