You could easily walk past without noticing the elusive entrance to the Franciscan Church and Monastery. Located in Placa, the main street in Old Town the monastery entrance is accessed via Pile Gate. We do recommend you find it, as the interiors are simply marvelous. A visit to this Dominican monastery will be full of history and culture, and the cathedral holds a treasured piece of cross on which it is believed Jesus was crucified. Do not miss a stop at the pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world, and check some of the organic products for sale. On your way out, spot the amusingly large amount of people trying to stand on a stone with a face peaking out of the wall: local legend has it that if successful you will be lucky for the rest of your life!
