Even if you are in town for just a few days and your focus is the enchanting Old Town, do yourself a favor and spend some time lazing and bathing at this beach. Banje is very close to the famous Ploce Gate, so if staying in the region there is no excuse not to try it, weather allowing. From the beach you have nice views of the walled city and the shallow waters are perfect for the less adventurous travelers and families. Bear in mind that in Croatia a “beach” is anything you can lie on and dive from, but Banje is a good option for a more traditional kind of beach, with pebbles, sand and beautiful seas. There is a beach club where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas and enjoy drinks and very good meals. If your goal is to relax, go early, as once the sun sets it gets busier with louder music and later turns into a nightclub.
