Versailles

Did you ever think it would be possible to go to Miami and not have an authentic Cuban experience? Head to Calle 8, right in the middle of picturesque Little Havana, and have a meal at laid-back Versailles, the most famous, traditional and authentic Cuban restaurant in town. Locals adore it and you can mingle to hear interesting stories and the latest news from their homeland. You will likely be captivated by the nostalgic expressions on their faces, as they recount memories and flashbacks of Cuba, and as they taste a bit of home in the traditional dishes. Lechón Asado was probably the best grilled pork we had in town, yet the famous ropa vieja stew and crispy marinated vaca frita meat were top contenders. Also worth trying are tostones (fried plantains), croquettas, or a Cuban sandwich. All dishes are as authentic and delicious as you can get. You may spot some of Miami’s artists and celebrities at Versailles, and during elections you will likely come across political candidates trying to win over Cuban votes. Versailles has become an institution in town, as not only a delicious Cuban restaurant but also a cultural immersion into the community.
