Pierre Hermé
We elect Pierre Hermé the best pastry shop in Paris. In a city with an enormous amount of high quality pâtisseries, it was no easy feat to select one amongst so many other excellent choices. But the thing is: the pies, macarons, cakes and pastries at Pierre Hermé are unbeatable. Some of our preferred ones are the Montebello, made with almond dough covered with pistachio cream and strawberries, the most amazing 2000 Feuielles, with caramelized crust and hazelnut praliné (a twist from the traditional recipe) and the Ultime, with the perfect balance between chocolate and other ingredients. The shop is super famous for its macarons and do not miss the Mogador ones, the incredible combination of passion fruit and chocolate, the delicious pistachio one or the salted caramel. There are, in fact, so many mouthwatering choices that you will have fun just watching the window and choosing your pastry of the day. Skip the ice-cream, we did not find it particularly good and for the best scoops in town head to Berthillon. Pierre Hermé has more than one shop in Paris, we have a special affection for the charming Saint-Germain-des-Prés branch. The most comfortable shop, however, is the recently inaugurated one on the Champs Elysées avenue. It has a seating area and a L’Occitane counter, so it may be a good choice for resting your feet after a day strolling around, and a spot for some shopping.
