When to
Go

Cole Porter sung of his love of Paris every moment, and although we agree that you can have great time in town in all seasons, we tend to prefer Paris in the springtime and autumn (fall). April, May and June are especially pleasant months to enjoy the city and wander around, as Paris is a destination ideally suited for walking. Summers are hot and the city is less crowded, which could be a good thing depending on whether you can cope with the high temperatures. Many locals take time off in August during the school holidays and go to the coastal areas, so some attractions and restaurants may be closed. However, if you can handle the heat, you may find great hotel deals in August and can enjoy longer daylight hours. In fall (autumn) the city starts getting less sunshine hours, but Paris remains lively and full of cultural and arts events and entertainment. And, there really is nothing quite like seeing Paris lit up for Christmas and year-end celebrations. So, pick the time of the year that suits you best and allez-y!
