Kong

One of the trendiest restaurants in Paris nowadays, Kong has also become quite popular with travelers due to its modern French-Asian fusion cuisine and its amazing architecture: a glass and iron dome with great views and decor by Philippe Starck. It turns out that the food is excellent as well and the service was very agreeable and efficient. We started our feast with a delicious salmon carpaccio on a very tasty sauce, as well as grilled octopus served over some stracciatella, both excellent. We then savored some magnificent caramelized spare ribs and udon (Japanese noodles) with mushrooms (just ok). For dessert the restaurant serves some pastries by Pierre Hermé or Éclair de Genie, which we recommend you try at their own shops and order instead some of the house’s specialties. Since we went there on a hot day, we tried a refreshing coconut ice cream with mango sauce which was most lovely! There is a large bar downstairs and a smoking room next to the main room, both equally beautiful. Set atop the Louis Vuitton building, you will not see many locals around, but rather savvy travelers since the restaurant is an experience as a whole and could be suited for special occasions.
