Cipriani Downtown

With branches in many different cities of the world, and originally twinned to the famous Venetian hotel and restaurant, Cipriani in Soho is a “see and be seen” kind of place. The local Soho crowd, chic uptowners, midtown business people, Wall Street financiers, virtually everybody goes to Cipriani Soho at some point. On sunny days try to get a table outside under its recognizable bright yellow awning, but be prepared to wait as they are well in demand. Portions are generous, so consider sharing. We visit regularly and never miss the arugula salad with shaved pamigiano, even though the artichoke and avocado salad is equally tempting, or the feast of pastas, like the one with mixed mushrooms or the spaghetti with clams. The branzino and lamb chops have also made our day on more than one occasion. Stroll around Soho Street right after your meal, to shop or appreciate the galleries and cutting-edge design shops.
