Can Solé

In Barceloneta and near the sea (no sea views though), the Can Solé is as traditional and Catalan as you can get. It has been around for decades and the food is delicious. The area used to be a fisherman’s village, before the tidal wave of tourism, and has maintained a local flair and the quality of its food. Can Solé is very laid back, a small tavern recently refurbished to a more modern flair, lunches are less demanded but at night reservations might be needed. Some of our favorite dishes include the deep fried squids for starters, and the lobster paella for main course, super tasty, delicious!. The typical fideuá, a typical and local pasta with seafood, is considered one of the best in town and some even name it the best in the whole of Spain, but we think that may be a slight exaggeration. There is no fusion, no reinterpretation of classics, simply good old hearty Catalan food. We love it, locals cherish it. Take the opportunity for a leisure stroll by the marina just blocks away with amazing yachts, or the Barceloneta promenade, also just blocks away.
