By far one of the best meals we ever tasted and we highly recommend it. Considered one of the best restaurants in Lisbon, in a sophisticated setting and with two Michelin stars, this is where renowned chef José Avillez takes classical Portuguese dishes to haute cuisine level, with a lot of creativity in its molecular food preparations, served impeccably by the efficient staff. There were tasting menus only and we found it worth pairing them with wines suggested by the sommelier. It is a truly memorable dining experience yet less expensive than most Michelin starred restaurants in Europe. There are few tables so a reservation is essential, as Belcanto is regularly fully booked  (watch out: they will call to confirm your reservation 48 hours ahead, so make sure you answer the phone or call back in order to avoid a cancelation).
