Antica Trattoria Spiga

If you are in the region of Santo Stefano basilica, the seven churches, and feel like eating something do not waste any time searching and head straight to this tiny trattoria frequented by locals, and living proof that excellent food does not necessarily have to be expensive. Tucked away in a cross street, we were surprised with the very tasteful lunch, as well as the light background jazz music. Our attention was captured by the starters and pastas, crostinis followed by tagliatelle con funghi, both delicious. The highlight though was the tortelloni filled with the creamiest ricotta we ever had, spinach, and burro e salvia sauce (butter and sage). The menu has many alluring meat options as cutlets, beef stews and veal. We skipped dessert in order to try the gelato at nearby Cremeria Santo Stefano. We advise you do the same, some of the best scoops in town!
