When to
Go
High season is the time of year we recommend, when sea temperatures are pleasant for swimming in the beautiful Aegean Sea and you will make the most of the wonderful beaches. During this time, avoid the peak of the season, spanning from the end of July to all of August, when Mykonos becomes crowded and prices skyrocket. Shoulder months are probably a better option. If you are not particularly interested in the sun-sea-sand experience, we can recommend Spring. The island is sunny with mild temperatures, most bars and restaurants will already be open, and your stay should be enjoyable, albeit without swimming. Skip Winter, when many of the island’s attractions are closed and only a few local people are around, as most of the population heads back to the continent. Note that from May onwards there are plenty of direct flights from many European cities, a convenience in terms of logistics. Otherwise, the ferry service is excellent.
