When to
Go
London is simply fabulous and known for many wonderful things. However, nice weather is not one of them. Grey cloudy skies are to be expected most days of the year, and the temperatures tend to veer towards the cooler end of the thermometer, regardless of season. London winters are quite cold, but not as bad as in some other European cities and you might find good hotel rates. We love the milder temperatures of spring and the lovely typically English gardens blooming. Some summers can have hot spells, with temperatures soaring to 30C/86F (but these tend not to last very long). When the sun is shining, you will see many locals outdoors happily enjoying a pint or picnic in the many parks, gardens, pubs or just about anywhere exposed to sunrays. Avoid late spring and summer if you would rather escape the busy high season and prices, reflective of the higher demand.
