The Lisboans is a hotel/apartment building suited to a traveler looking for a homey stay in a modern ambiance. Located in the city’s historic center, it is close to many attractions like the Sé Cathedral and excellent eateries. A fifteen minute walk will take you to the best areas in town, like Chiado and Bairro Alto. The refurbished residential building has a cool atmosphere and a modern concept, with no traditional reception. There is a large table, from which the gracious hosts welcome guests, which also serves as a work desk where people can plug in their laptops or just sit for a coffee and a chat. We found the tastefully smart apartments quite large for European standards, with typical Portuguese azulejo tiles, antique furnishings and a contemporary décor. All rooms have a sitting room and kitchenette, which we found particularly useful and used regularly to consume breakfast, which is conveniently brought to your room every morning, and take out coffee and delicacies from the coffee house next door. Very much in line with sustainability best practices, linens and towels are changed only every three days or more frequently upon request. If possible, choose an apartment with views to the Tagus River. Please note there is a minimum two-night stay requirement.
