Hotel d’Inghilterra

On our latest stay we were quite pleased with this property, very well located on a quiet area only blocks away from busy Piazza di Spagna, a convenient proximity yet safe kept from the noise. Vias dei Condotti, del Corso and the upscale shopping district, as well as stunning Villa Borghese, were all within a five-minute walk. Actually, we had the same great experience at the the Splendid in Venice and the Rosa Grand in Milan, all owned by the same group. At entrance, we were amused by the soothing scent that welcomes you to the swanky lobby, with black marble and granite, orange sofas, classic luxurious chairs and opulent golden mirrors. The staff is very helpful and attentive, dressed impeccably as the greatest hoteliers always did. We found particularly alluring that breakfast and meals are served on the street under ombrelones (large parasols), which is quite charming given the typically Roman surrounding cobblestone streets. Rooms in general are large and classic, with a luxurious twist, tastefully colorful and with charming antique furniture pieces. Complimentary “Travel Buddy”, a device the size of a mobile phone with maps and a phone line available for calls, was a nice complimenatry touch. Rooms differ in setting, some (just a few) more contemporary, others old style, but all high quality upscale accommodation. There are also wonderful suites which are bigger in size but do not offer much of an upgrade in terms of the views, so may not be worth the higher rate. The marble bathrooms are large and complete with all expected comforts and amenities. We believe this hotel to be a great alternative in town if you like the classical style.
