The term hotel does not do this property justice, as it is more of an exclusive townhouse with hotel services. And certainly not a regular townhouse, at that. Luxurious design, impeccable style, authentic vintage furniture and modern sophistication are naturally commonplace in this tiny 8-room boutique property. The location is excellent, on a small quiet street just off via Giulia and walking distance to the Vatican, Pizza Navona and Campo de Fiori. Each room is unique in layout and décor, all are very large, in fact much larger than you usually get in Rome. Most rooms are suites with living areas, top-notch wooden floors and wardrobes, incredible vintage furniture, original artists’ paintings on walls and a wine cellar (saluti!). Bathrooms are super stylish with black tiles and contemporary fixtures and amenities. Some suites have balconies or terraces and we particularly liked the one facing the back patios of the Roman homes around the hotel, a charming, traditional and typically Italian setting. Breakfast is served in your room upon order, as well as meals during the day and night. There is a small elegant and inviting on-site bar and the hotel staff was one of the nicest we ever met in Rome. De Ricci is ideal for travelers looking for a very intimate stay in town.
