Newbury Street

A stroll around Newbury Street in the Back Bay neighborhood is very pleasant, even if you are not planning to shop. It is worth a visit just to have a look at the interesting shop windows, many of which are quirky independent shops, and enjoy the cafes and restaurants. Back Bay is a residential area and you’ll undoubtedly notice a larger amount of locals than you’ll see in downtown. Feel the local atmosphere as you spot many local residents walking around. You’ll find some large chain brands like the Japanese Muji and UniqLo, a huge Nike store and the famous Italian linen store Frette, as well as many small alternative retail shops and independent street stalls. If it’s a nice day, stop by Amorino for a lovely ice cream. Take the opportunity and walk a further five minutes to visit the gardens and flower beds at the Public Garden, with its charming iron gate, flower beds (especially lovely in full spring bloom) and the pedal boats.
