LX Factory

An old textile company and manufacturing complex that was shut down many years ago and that has been transformed in one of the coolest areas in town. That’s LX Factory, an assemblage of galleries, design shops and venues to eat and drink. Actually, it also holds offices and studios of creative professionals and start-ups, which you can see in the different floors of the old building. Upon arrival have a look at the graffiti on walls of the main strip, check out some shops of the independent fashion scene and visit its many art galleries and design shops. Be amused pedaling for your juice at the small stall that uses your energy to power the machines, delight yourself book browsing at Ler Devagar (means slow reading) bookshop and its iconic bicycle hanging from the ceiling, have fun at Rio Maravilha rooftop and spot the statue of the girl with open arms facing Christ the Redeemer on the other side of the river, choose a place to eat and drink, check out The Therapist and its many therapies, walk around, feel the buzz and have fun. You can spend hours at LX Factory and chances are you will feel like returning some other day, as you might have missed seeing something really cool! By the way, Sundays have an outdoor flea market which can get busy, but is so very worth it…
