Design District and Wynwood Walls

These are two must-do Miami neighborhoods. The Miami Design District is a perfect example of urban decay gone luxe. The area was once a pineapple grove and later became a rundown dangerous neighborhood, but in the late 90’s architects and designers collaborated and began a gentrification process, renovating and investing in the area. Today, the Miami Design District has risen to become a mecca for the cool hunter. Art galleries, high fashion shops, antique dealers, modern home designers and innovative eateries. Explore, be inspired, shop! Have lunch at Michael’s, a unanimous choice, delicious food and a great atmosphere, choose to be seated outside if the weather is good. Later on, head to the newest and trendy Wynwood neighborhood, an area that is developing fast, with new restaurants, cafés and shops popping up every day. Initially the region’s main attraction was the fabulous graffiti walls (at 25th Street and 2nd Avenue), which you can’t miss by the way. Book the Arts Walk to experience an informative perspective of the murals and galleries. But take your time to walk around and enjoy the day in the neighborhood, a bit hipster and super cool. Don’t leave without trying some ice-cream at Stefano Versace Gelato, once awarded the best ice cream in the world (it is really good). What a great day!
