Pasticerie Rosa Salva
This family run pasticceria has been around for quite some time, according to the family’s own account for over a century. It is a traditional pastry-making venue, an ideal place to stop for coffee and cakes, but they also sell chocolates and other sweets. There is more than one shop in town nowadays, we stopped more than once at the one conveniently located on the way between San Marco and Rialto, and were quite pleased. Bear in mind there is a tiny three star hotel next door, run by the same family and also with the name of Rosa Salva, which we consider one of the best finds in town, given its location and recently renovated modern facilities, a respite from the endless classic Venetian style that prevails in town. The hotel is also good value if compared to other properties around.
