Pap’Açorda

This iconic restaurant opened in the 80s and has been considered amongst the best in town for years, attracting a faithful clientele. It recently revamped its offering and moved to Mercado da Ribeira in Cais do Sodré, right by Jardim Dom Luis I, which the restaurant overlooks. The new setting is modern but kept its landmark chandelier hanging gloriously above the bar and maintained most of its famous recipes and Portuguese specialties that made the house so famous. Portions have been adapted to be shared, a demand from the younger clientele. The açordas (bread stew) were delicious as always, the veal croquettas have now become starters and most of its traditional main dishes are still in the menu and as delectable as ever. Do not forget to start with cocktails and the classic Papadrink, and please do yourself a favor and finish in style with the decadent chocolate mousse for dessert.
