Chez Leon

This restaurant has become an exception on our list of suggested eating venues: it is super touristic, but the food was very good, so we decided to include it. Located only three blocks away from the Grand Place, it is an option for a good lunch or dinner at reasonable prices. Chez Leon is very traditional, enormous and serves large amounts of people. If the weather is nice request a table outside, which is quite pleasant. We were lucky that mussels were in season at the time we visited Brussels and the various options on the menu were tempting. We started with a delicious salad with cheese and nuts, followed by Moules et Frites, mussels cooked on a tomato sauce and in a butter and herb sauce, both outstanding! Service could be a little friendlier, but was quite efficient given the size of the venue and amount of people seated. A long séjour in Paris followed our visit to Brussels and we found out Chez Leon has a branch there. We reminisced and were pleased to find a little piece of Belgium in France!
