A perfect choice if you want to stay in the Belém region, close to the Jeronimos Monastery and Belém Tower. The estate is an old palace, as the name infers, that used to be the residence of the governors of the Belém Tower. It has been beautifully renovated to offer a very comfortable stay in a smartly decorated setting. We loved the blue shades in the decoration, perhaps a reference to its riverside location along the Tagus bank, and the original ceramic tiles on the lobby walls, which used to be a small chapel. There are pleasant gardens with views to the historic riverside tower and a lovely spa in which to relax after visiting the nearby monuments. Palácio do Governador has 60 spacious bedrooms, ranging between 20 to 25 square meters, each individually styled and modernly decorated, with original features such as the beautiful ceilings in the suites. In the summertime, bring your bathing suit as the pool is delightful!
