Nerva Boutique Hotel
You simply cannot get any closer to the old part of town, Colosseum included. The impression you have is that if you open your bedroom windows and stretch out your arms you will touch the Forum. The Nerva is quintessentially boutique: everything in this charming 19-room property is small, cozy and welcoming. Yet, the Nerva is not small when it comes to attention to detail and hospitality. There is a small reception desk and a quaint breakfast room, a delightful cake sits on display alluring you to savor it as you may please. The ambiance is pleasantly air-conditioned and a lovely scent lingers throughout the hotel. There is an elevator leading up to the accommodations. Rooms are small in general, but homely, with a modern touch, dark walls adorned with paintings and colorful details bring extra charm. The marble bathrooms look nice, with large sinks and efficient fixtures and amenities. If you want some more space try one of the suites, they are almost double in size, have a living room and some have a pleasant terrace. For dining out, we recommend you skip the nearby touristic restaurants and walk on for 10 minutes to reach much less touristy areas like Monti (the up-and-coming part of town) and Cavour. There are good cafés and gelaterias nearby. Check our suggestions in Eat & Drink and g=have a great stay in town.
