In the historic center, convenient even if Via Laietana and Catalunya square can be a little too busy, Ohla is ideally located if you aim to visit attractions or have business meetings. It is just steps away from stunning Palau de la Musica and very near the city’s Cathedral. We like that this boutique hotel is housed in a historical neoclassic building with an avant-garde interior design, and the décor is both contemporary and comfortable. Its rooftop has a terrace bar and the glazed swimming pool is a highlight (we could not stop ourselves from taking a picture with Palau in the backdrop). The views are breathtaking and many of Barcelona’s landmarks can be seen. Yoga lessons are on offer here, so ask about times and prices, and Namastê. A Catalan restaurant, among others, and a recently inaugurated wine bar complete the scene. Accommodation is minimalist yet cozy, with a relaxing setting and calming shades. The standard rooms are spacious and the suites offer large floor to ceiling windows and living rooms. Some rooms feature balconies, but not all are accessible, so do check if this a must for your stay.
